Normandy Food Tours
“The pleasure of the table belongs to all ages, to all conditions, to all countries, and to all areas, it mingles with all other pleasures, and remains at last to console us for their departure.” Brillat Savarin
We recommend the 8 days itinerary, however it is possible to organise a shorter stay with a minimum of 3 days (min 2 pers).
8 DAYS ITINERARY
DAY 1
Welcome to France! I meet you with my dad at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport before heading “Home” (4 hours drive). On the way, we stop for lunch in Honfleur and I make you discover Honfleur-Deauville-Trouville. My mum welcomes you with Champagne and we have dinner together.
DAY 2
Wake up with the smell of breakfast with croissants, baguettes and a bowl of coffee! We then go shopping for fresh veggies, fruits and a leg of lamb in a market. We visit a cidrerie (cider factory) and we have lunch at a creperie. We spend the afternoon, discovering the villages and countryside of la Hague. We finish the day with a French cooking class at “Home”.
DAY 3
After a delicious breakfast with French specialities, we go to Briquebec, a farmer village where we fill up our shopping baskets with more fresh produce and discover this village, its epicerie and its castle where we have lunch. In the afternoon, it’s time to bring your empty suitcase in a very special shop which sells very special products. We walk in the deep countryside surrounded with cows and cherry trees. The dinner is prepared by my mum in the farmhouse where I grew up. Night at “Home”.
DAY 4
French breakfast at “Home” and visit of Carteret, a beautiful fisherman village. The lunch is spent at La Marine, 1 Star Michelin restaurant. We digest by walking for an hour along the dramatic sea cliffs. Our senses being now fully awake, we visit a sweet and jam farm for our little gouter. We go back “Home” for a French cooking class.
DAY 5
French breakfast at “Home”. We visit the small and charming village of St Pierre Eglise and its market. I take you to a supermarket to see all the typical French products that you may add to your ‘less empty’ suitcase! We have lunch at a restaurant with a beautiful view. In the afternoon, we drive and walk in various beautiful fisherman villages of le Val-de-Saire. We finish the day with a French cooking class at “Home”.
DAY 6
Today, we visit the Mont St Michel Abbaye and on the way, we stop in a tiny village for some andouilles. We also visit a copper workshop in Villedieu les Poeles. The dinner is at “Home” with a “no need to cook”! A serious seafood platter ends up perfectly this special day!
DAY 7
After a French breakfast at “Home”, we start with a French cooking class. Then, we go to Cherbourg to visit shops that sell special kitchen tools and equipment, cooking book stores, and a French music store (you need French singers to recreate the atmosphere back home), and more shops if you feel like it. We have lunch at a brasserie. Back “Home”, we just need to finish preparing our dinner that we’ve started on the morning.
DAY 8
On the way back to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, we stop at a village known for its ceramic, an ideal place to buy amazing ceramic French plates and dishes and we finish the tour with a great lunch in a nice restaurant specialised in fireplace cooking.
